Thermal Imaging Inspections Charlotte
Thermal Imaging Inspection - Residential
Thermal imaging known as thermography is the science of identifying and recording temperature differentials across surfaces. In a residential structure, thermal imaging can help to identify areas with moisture intrusion problems and excessive energy loss. Interior moisture intrusion issues tend to cause the surfaces with excess moisture to be a slightly lower temperature due to the evaporation of the water from the surface. For verification purposes, CDA utilizes a moisture meter, boroscope, and laser thermometer to prove the substrates have a higher moisture content then similiar surrounding substates and delineate the extent of the moisture intrusion. This technique works well when performing mold inspections and moisture intrusion surveys as well as indoor air quality assessments. Thermal imaging can also be used to identify air infiltration around doors, windows, and baseboards as well as areas with missing or improperly installed insulation. This technique works well when performing home energy audits to identify points of heating and cooling loss.
